Illustration Project

I traveled to Dharamsala and quickly became fascinated with Tibetan artistry used to depict Buddhist concepts and ideologies.
I came across frequent uses of The Ashtamangala, what is considered the eight auspicious symbols of Buddhism.
My aim was to digitally replicate the Tibetan art style in an effort to reconnect artistic vision with my religious roots
The entire piece took over 5 days to complete.

Conclusion

I faced some difficulty with the heavy detailing and had to make sure that I kept my attention to detail
Given that this religious concept had a lot of sacred meaning, it made it me a lot more aware of how even the smaller design aspects can translate vastly different emotions in the final piece.
Thus I was very motivated to consider alternatives and plan out, how I would design everything from the brush strokes of smaller flowers to the fluffs of the parasol.
